Manu Chao: "'Me gustas tù" (2002)
"Me Gustas Tú" is the second single from Manu Chao's second solo album, Próxima Estación: Esperanza. It has proved to be one of the artist's most popular songs worldwide. Its lyrics show a simple but catchy structure, and it is primarily sung in Spanish but on the chorus French is also spoken. The song, as well as two other tracks from the same album, "La Primavera" and "Infinita Tristeza", feature the same background music. In fact, on the album, "La Primavera" fades and leads into "Me Gustas Tú".
The song was featured on the soundtrack of the 2003 movie Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
It has been covered by La Sonora Dinamita, a Colombian cumbia group. It is featured on their album, Yo Soy la Cumbia.

Snap: "Rhythm is a dancer" (1992)
"Rhythm Is a Dancer" is a song recorded by the act Snap!, released as a single in the second quarter of 1992, from the album The Madman's Return. It was written by Benito Benitez, John "Virgo" Garrett III (aliases for German producers Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti), singer Thea Austin and rapper Durron Butler and produced by Snap! It achieved a huge success in many countries, becoming a top 5 hit in the U.S. and topping the charts in France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. "Walk of Life" is a 1985 song by the British rock band Dire Straits. It appeared on their best-selling album Brothers in Arms. It subsequently appeared on their live album On the Night. It was released as a single in November 1985 but had first been available as the b-side of "So Far Away" released in advance of Brothers in Arms. The track peaked at number 7 in the US charts and was their biggest commercial hit in the UK, peaking at number 2. The track also appeared on the 2005 compilation The Best of Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler: Private Investigations.

Leonard cohen: "The Future" (1992)
The Future is a studio album from 1992 by Leonard Cohen. It has come to be recognized as his "film-score" album as nearly every one of the songs on the album has appeared in some notable form in a Hollywood film.
Widely recognized as one of Cohen's more accessible albums, The Future contains everything from gospel-choir choruses (title track) to synthesizer ballads ("Waiting for the Miracle"), to pop-country ("Closing Time"), to marching band, staccato-like rhythms ("Democracy").
While not his most commercially successful album internationally, The Future is definitely one of his most musically diverse outings. The album was, however, one of Cohen's biggest chart successes in his native Canada, where "Closing Time" and "The Future" were both significant Top 40 hits. Cohen, whose singing voice is famously an acquired taste, won the 1992 Juno Award for Best Male Vocalist. In his acceptance speech, he quipped that "Only in Canada could somebody with a voice like mine win Vocalist of the Year".
The Future was the last Cohen album to be recorded and produced entirely in analog and then digitised after mixdown. Its working titles were Busted (after the line from "Closing Time") and Be for Real.
Cohen's then-girlfriend, actress Rebecca De Mornay, co-produced the song "Anthem".
"Tacoma Trailer" is one of two instrumentals in the Cohen catalogue. The other is "Improvisation" from Live Songs. The album is silver in the UK and double-platinum in Canada. The Future was Cohen's longest album to date, at nearly sixty minutes.

Blondie: "Call Me" (1980)
"Call Me" is a song by the American new wave band Blondie. Released in 1980, "Call Me" topped the singles charts in both the US (where it became the band's biggest selling single and second #1) and the UK (where it became their fourth no.1 hit).
The song was the main theme of the film American Gigolo. European disco producer Giorgio Moroder originally asked Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac to help compose and perform a song for the soundtrack, but she declined (as a recently signed contract with Modern Records prevented her from working with Moroder). It was at this time that Moroder turned to Debbie Harry and Blondie. Moroder presented Harry with a rough instrumental track called "Man Machine." Harry was asked to write the lyrics and melody, a process that Harry states took only a few hours. The completed song was then recorded by the band, with Moroder producing. The bridge of the original English language version also includes Harry singing "Call Me" in Italian ("Amore, chiamami") and French ("Appelle-moi, mon cheri").
In the US the song was released by three different record companies: the longest version (at 8:06) on the soundtrack album by Polydor, the 7" and 12" on Blondie's label Chrysalis, and a Spanish language 12" version, with lyrics by Buddy and Mary McCluskey, on disco label Salsoul Records. The Spanish version, titled "Llámame", was meant for release in Mexico and some South American countries. This version was also released in the US and the UK and had its CD debut on Chrysalis/EMI's rarities compilation Blonde and Beyond (1993). In 1988, a remixed version by Ben Liebrand taken from the Blondie remix album Once More into the Bleach was issued as a single in the UK. In 2001 the "original long version" appeared as a bonus track on the Autoamerican album re-issue.

Tricky: "Evolution Revolution Love" (2001)
Tricky (born Adrian Nicholas Matthews Thaws, 27 January 1968) is an English musician and actor. As a producer and a musician, he is noted for a dark, rich and layered sound and a whispering sprechgesang lyrical style. Culturally, Tricky encourages an intertwining of societies, particularly in his musical fusion of rock and hip hop, high art and pop culture. His debut album Maxinquaye was nominated for the Mercury Prize and voted Album of the Year by NME Magazine.
"Evolution Revolution Love" is part of "Blowback", the sixth album by Tricky, released in 2001. Like Nearly God, Blowback contains several collaborations, but the album's sound is much brighter and more relaxed by comparison. Tricky himself said that he wanted to get airplay with this album, while most of his earlier albums were made to stay off the radio. Guest performers on Blowback include Flea, Anthony Kiedis, Josh Klinghoffer, and John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cyndi Lauper, Alanis Morissette, Ed Kowalczyk and less well known artists such as Hawkman, Stephanie McKay and Ambersunshower, with whom he already worked in 1996 for the charity compilation Childline.
A new song called "Question" and an alternate version of the song "Diss Never" (both with Alanis Morissette's vocals) are still unreleased, because her label Maverick Records holds them back.

"I Turn to You" is a pop song written by Diane Warren in 1996. The original version of the song was recorded that year by R&B quartet All-4-One for the soundtrack album to the Warner Bros. film Space Jam.

Vanessa Williams: "Save the Best for Last" (1992)
"Save the Best for Last" is a 1992 song written by Phil Galdston, Wendy Waldman and Jon Lind. It is considered Vanessa Williams' signature song. The lyrics' redemptive themes resonated with Williams' story, as she had put together a successful recording career following her earlier Miss America resignation scandal.
According to wikipedia, the song is a ballad, metaphorically and implicitly about a young female admirer of a single man who stands by and watches as the object of her desires goes through years of dating, before he finally unexpectedly decides to consummate a relationship with the singer.

Elvis Presley: "In The Ghetto" (1970)
"In the Ghetto" (originally titled "The Vicious Circle") is a song recorded by Elvis Presley and published by Elvis Presley Music in 1969. It was written by Mac Davis and made famous by Elvis Presley who had a major comeback hit with the controversial song in 1969. It was released in 1969 as a 45 rpm single with "Any Day Now" as the flip side. It is a narrative of a generational poverty, in which a young boy who is born in the ghetto of Chicago, grows up, steals and fights, purchases a gun and steals a car, attempts to run, but eventually is shot and killed as another child is born, with the strong implication that the newborn's fate will be the same.
The song was Presley's first Top 10 hit in the US in four years, peaking at number 3, and his first UK Top 10 hit in three years.

Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)" is a power ballad written and performed by the Glam metal band Cinderella, from their second album Long Cold Winter. It was their most successful single, peaking at number 12 on the charts in November 1988. It was released in August 1988.
It is featured in the South Park episode "Raisins". The song can also be heard on the 2008 film The Wrestler.
In accordance with wikipedia, the music video for this song was filmed at Mono Lake, California. This fact is revealed in the Tales From the Gypsy Road video collection.

Queen - 'You Don't Fool Me'
"You Don't Fool Me" is a song by Queen, from the 1995 album Made in Heaven. It was released as a single in 1996, containing various remixes of the song.
The song is one of the few which were actually written and recorded after the Innuendo sessions, and was written and composed by Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor (albeit credited to the entire band).
It was a worldwide hit and reached the peak of the single charts in Italy.

Aretha Franklin: "Respect" (1990)
"Respect" is a song written and originally released by Stax recording artist Otis Redding in 1965. "Respect" became a 1967 hit and signature song for R&B singer Aretha Franklin. While Redding wrote the song as a man's plea for respect and recognition from a woman, the roles were reversed for Franklin's version. Franklin's cover was a landmark for the feminist movement, and is often considered as one of the best songs of the R&B era, earning her two Grammy Awards in 1968 for "Best Rhythm & Blues Recording" and "Best Rhythm & Blues Solo Vocal Performance, Female", and was inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998. In 2002, the Library of Congress honored Franklin's version by adding it to the National Recording Registry. It is number five on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.[1] It was also included in the list of Songs of the Century, by the Recording Industry of America and the National Endowment for the Arts.
