- Lyrics:

I aint lookin' for a free ride home
Back to the middle.
I need a new locale
I need a girl that calls me baby,
I need to know if she can save me.

I need somewhere I can drive all night
Out into the darkness,
Follow the headlights down.
I've gotta know if they can take me,
Ive gotta know if they can save me.
Woah*2

Focus in every word,
Change my path,
Maybe I could leave a mark.
Try and prove the poets wrong
There must be a time,
Maybe we could be the song to march us on

I ain't lookin for a free ride home,
Back to the middle,
I need a new locale,
I need a girl that calls me baby,
I need to know if she can save me.

I need somewhere I can drive all night,
Out into the darkness,
Follow the headlights down,
I need to know where they can take me,
Ive gottta know if they can save me.
Woah*2

Beg the Book to turn the page
Cause I get stuck where the villains get away.
Somewhere in this wretched tale,
There must be a line where the victim get his way, just one time.
Oh I'll get mine.

I ain't lookin' for a free ride home,
Back to the middle.
I need a new locale,
I need a girl that calls me baby,
I gotta know if she can tame me.

I need somewhere I can drive all night,
Out into the darkness,
Follow the headlights down,
I need to know where they can take me,
Ive gottta know if they can save me.
Woah*2

Drive All Night (yeah Baby just),
Hold On Tight (Oh and you can) ,
Close your eyes (yeah and),
We can say goodbye.
We can Drive All Night (yeah just),
Hold On Tight (Baby just) ,
Close your eyes (yeah and),
We can say goodbye.

The Who: "Won't Get Fooled Again" (1971)

"Won't Get Fooled Again" is a song by the rock band The Who. Written by Pete Townshend, it combines guitar power chords with heavily processed organ and synthesizer sounds to create a textured, atmospheric introduction that explodes into the verse. It is based upon the idea of revolution, somewhat cynically portraying the hope surrounding the concept – "I tip my hat to the new constitution/Take a bow for the new revolution" – and the disappointment that the new regime is the same as the old one – "Meet the new boss/Same as the old boss". The original version of the song appears as the final track on the album Who's Next. The 1971 single release (a drastically edited version at three-and-a-half minutes in length) reached #9 on the UK Singles Chart, #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #14 on the Australian Singles Chart (Go-Set). It is a perennial favorite on classic rock radio stations and concert staple for the band.

- Lyrics:

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again

Change it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fall that's all
But the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they all flown in the last war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie

Do ya?

There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

Haddaway: "What is love" (1993)

"What Is Love" is a 1993 dance track by the singer Haddaway, popular with club DJs. It was written and produced by Dee Dee Halligan (Tony Hendrik/Dieter Lünstedt) and Junior Torello (Karin Hartman-Eisenblätter) of Coconut Records in Cologne. Recorded in the early 1990s, it later experienced a revival as the song from the Saturday Night Live "Roxbury Guys" sketches, where two brothers played by Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell frequently went to dance clubs. The sketches were later made into the 1998 feature film A Night at the Roxbury.

The song peaked at number two in the United Kingdom and Germany, but it reached number one in 13 other countries, all of them European or Asian. In the United States the song reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and number 12 in Australia. The song is currently the 62nd best-selling single of all time in Germany.

- Lyrics:

yeah ehh

x2
What is love ?
yeah ehh
Wooww woow

I don't know
Why you're not there
I give you my love, but you don't care
So what is right,
And what is wrong
Gimme a sign !

What is love ?
Baby don't hurt me,
Don't hurt me, no more
What is love ?
Baby don't hurt me,
Don't hurt me, no more

Don't hurt me x2

I don't know
What can I do
What else can I say, it's up to you
I know we're one,
Just me and you
I cannot go on

What is love ?
Baby don't hurt me,
Don't hurt me, no more
What is love ?
Baby don't hurt me,
Don't hurt me, no more

yeah ehh x2

I want no other
No other lover
This is our life, our time
We are together
I need you forever
Is it love ?

Oh baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me

What is love ?
What is love ?
What is love ?

Baby don't hurt me,
Don't hurt me, no more
What is love ?
Baby don't hurt me,
Don't hurt me, no more

x2
What is love ?
yeah ehh

Wooww woow

What is love ?
Baby don't hurt me
Wooww woow
What is love ?
Oh baby don't hurt me
Wouu wouu

What is love ?

Like the crack of the whip I snap attack
Front to back in this thing called rap
Dig it like a shovel rhyme devil
On a heavenly level
Bang the bass turn up the treble
Radical mind day and night all the time
Seven to fourteen wise divine
Maniac brainiac winning the game
I'm the lyrical Jesse James

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh yeah-eah-eah-eah-eah-eah
I've got the power
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh yeah
Gettin' kinda heavy
I've got the power

It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda heavy
It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda heavy
It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda heavy
It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda heavy

I've got the power
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's got the power oh-oh-oh-oh

I've got the power
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's got the power oh-oh-oh-oh
I've got the power

It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda hectic

It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda hectic
It's gettin' it's gettin' it's gettin' kinda hectic

Quality I possess something I'm fresh
When my voice goes through the rest
Of the microphone that I am holdin'
Copywritten lyrics so they can't be stolen
If they are snap
Don't need the police to try to save them
Your voice will sink so please stay off my back
Or I will attack and you don't want that

I've got the power
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's got the power oh-oh-oh-oh

I've got the power
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's gonna break my heart
He's gonna break my heart of hearts
He's got the power oh-oh-oh-oh

I've got the power

MC Hammer: "Have You Seen Her" (1990)

"Have You Seen Her" is a song recorded by the soul vocal group, The Chi-Lites, and released on Brunswick Records in 1971. Composed by the lead singer Eugene Record and Barbara Acklin, the song was included on the group's 1971 album (For God's Sake) Give More Power to the People.

The Chi-Lites recorded "Have You Seen Her" in a style owing much to the doo-wop traditions of the late 1950s, after the success of another such song earlier in the year, The Temptations' "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)."[citation needed] The song begins and ends with a spoken narrative that tells the story that once he was happy. However, his girl left him, and so he takes walks to the movies, or to the park, and tries to hide from his misery by telling jokes to the kids who know him. However, this does not work, believing that she would be back, but it does not happen. Towards the end of the song, as another day comes to an end, he hopes to see a letter from her. He ends his narration thinking that he had the girl in the palm of his hand. The song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached the top of the Billboard R&B Singles chart in November 1971. It also reached number three in the UK Singles Chart in February 1972.

The most significant cover of "Have You Seen Her" was recorded by MC Hammer, for his successful 1990 LP, Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em, which reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #8 on the UK Singles Chart.

The Barron Knights produced a parody version.

X Factor series 2 contestant Maria Lawson used a sample of the song for her 2006 debut single "Sleepwalking."

- Lyrics:

ah yeah, I'm glad I put this tape in,
I'm just gon' cruise down the road,
look at the stars in the sky,
and drift off into the sweet memorys that I have,
of a love that my heart has been searching for,
for so long, and I know somewhere,
If I keep searching, that love I'll find,
the picture grows clearer and clearer,
from the back to the front of my mind,
and like love, a love I know I'll have,
the girl that I want, she'll be mine, she'll be fly, and it'll last,

I see her face and I can't let go,
she's in my dreams and my heart, so let me know,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
I'm looking for that love,
she's a thought and a vision in my memory,
I haven't met her, but tell me where could she be,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
I'm looking for that special love,
(love, oh love, love is a feeling that I need)
love is a feeling that the Hammer definetly needs,
(please be mine)
baby be mine,
(I need your love to make it)
I need your love to make it,
so why don't you be mine,
the search is going on,
from coast to coast,
a women for the man, who's propping the most,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
my heart is beating strong,
this love cannot be wrong,
I need her and I want her, so come on to my home,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
I'm a keep looking,
at the movies, in my car, on my stero,
at a game of Different World or the Cosby Show,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
yo veo, tell me what's up,
at the track, at the club, or out buying dub,
if you've seen her, then I'll have her, cause I'm in love,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
my heart is hurting so bad,
(love, oh love, love is a feeling that I need)
love is a feeling that I know I need,
(please be mine)
be mine baby,
(I need your love to make it)
I need your love to make it,
why don't you be mine,
(baby, be mine)
where could she be?,
at the store around the corner,
or wondering at night,
or chilling with another brother holding the mic,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
Hammer, you know I'm looking,
calling all my friends all around the place,
Guy, Lavertte, or my homey Rob Base,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
if you've peeped her out, tell me,
yo, veo on the phone,
Ted, Dre, or Ed Lover,
Fab Five, homeys won't you help a young brother,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
I got a picture in my mind,
the thought is so clear of the love I need here,
like D-B magic, and why don't you appear,
(have you seen her?)
oh baby, why don't you appear,
(tell me have you seen her?)
I can see yo' face,
I'm seeing her face, again and again,
come knocking at my door, and you know I'll let you in,
(have you seen her?)
have you seen her?,
(tell me have you seen her?)
oh, my sweet love,
searching 'round the world, what more can I say?,
the girl is hard to see like an unseen VJ,
(have you seen her? tell me have you seen her? have you seen her?)

- Lyrics:

Jitterbug [4X]

You put the boom-boom into my heart
You send my soul sky high when your lovin' starts
Jitterbug into my brain
Goes a bang-bang-bang 'til my feet do the same
But something's bugging you
Something ain't right
My best friend told me what you did last night
Left me sleepin' in my bed
I was dreaming, but I should have been with you instead.

Wake me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Wake me up before you go-go
I don't want to miss it when you hit that high
Wake me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not plannin' on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight
I wanna hit that high (yeah, yeah)

You take the grey skies out of my way
You make the sun shine brighter than Doris Day
Turned a bright spark into a flame
My beats per minute never been the same

'Cause you're my lady, I'm your fool
It makes me crazy when you act so cruel
Come on, baby, let's not fight
We'll go dancing, everything will be all right

Wake me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Wake me up before you go-go
I don't want to miss it when you hit that high
Wake me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not plannin'' on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight
I wanna hit that high (yeah, yeah, baby)

(Jitterbug)
(Jitterbug)

Cuddle up, baby, move in tight
We'll go dancing tomorrow night
It's cold out there, but it's warm in bed
They can dance, we'll stay home instead

(Jitterbug)

Wake me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Wake me up before you go-go
I don't want to miss it when you hit that high
Wake me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not plannin' on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight
Wake me up before you go-go, don't you dare to leave me hanging on like a
yo-yo
Take me dancing

(Boom-boom-boom)

- Lyrics:

I miss you so much now I call again
Come, come tonight
Just hold me tight
This desert rain your my guiding light

We, We were lost
This world of pain
I miss you so much now I call again
Come, come tonight
Just hold me tight
This desert rain your my guiding light

We, we were lost
This walk of tide
We forgot about love, You forgot about us
Now I am here
Dreams become real

I feel like a sand that’s blown away
back into the storm
I’m inside this dream
That feels just like a desert rain

We, We were lost
This world of pain
I miss you so much now I call again
Come, come tonight
Just hold me tight
This desert rain your my guiding light

We, we were lost
This walk of tide
We forgot about love, You forgot about us
Now I am here
Dreams become real

I feel like a sand that’s blown away
back into the storm
I’m inside this dream
That feels just like a desert rain

You will always have my soul
Hidden dreams and secret words
Missing you

I feel like a sand that’s blown away
back into the storm
I’m inside this dream
That feels just like a desert rain

Boyce Avenue: "Every Breath" (2010)

The song "Every Breath" is the 4th song of "All We Have Left", the second studio album and first major album by American rock band Boyce Avenue, released on June 15, 2010. The album's first single "Every Breath" was released digitally on March 16, 2010.

As of the end of 2009, the band had finished recording a full album of original music, had produced and financed the entire project on its own, and had developed a plan to release the album independently through its own label, 3 Peace Records. At that time, they were approached by Universal Republic to partner in the release of the album. The band, impressed with Republic's excitement about the music and the band's wanting to remain extremely hands on with their music, videos, and websites, signed with Universal Republic in November 2009. The band's major label debut album, "All We Have Left", was released on June 15, 2010, featuring "Every Breath", the first single from the album. The music video for the song was shot by acclaimed director Zach Merck (Blue October, Safetysuit) in Los Angeles, and was a collaborative effort that grew from a treatment written by the band.

In accordance with wikipedia, singer/guitarist Alejandro Manzano comments, "It's been a long-time goal of ours to release a full-length debut album worldwide, with all of our music on it the way we've always wanted the world to hear it. We feel this album is the kind of release our fans deserve."

- Lyrics:

It sounds like this is nothing new
and it hasn't been for a while
You wake up on the other side
and you strain to force a smile
The fairytale inside your head
has become your new best friend
But I can show you that I'll be there
before the story ends

Cause' when I needed a place to hang my heart
you were there to worry from the start
And with every breath I make
you'll be the only light I see

I'm inching to the finish line
of a life time that's barely started
The piece of mine I left behind
I pray you'll keep in your perfect garden
You're waiting on a minute hand
and the countdown lasts for days
But I can tell you
it won't be long before I'm here to stay

Cause' when I needed a place to hang my heart
you were there to worry from the start
And with every breath I make
you'll be the only light I see

The weightlessness of lack of rest,
away from you I'm in over my head

Even when it's dark before dawn
I'll feel your grace and carry on
And with every breath I make
you'll be the only light I see

When I needed a place to hang my heart
you were there to worry from the start
And with every breath I make
you'll be the only light I see

Even when it's dark before the dawn
I will feel your grace and carry on
And with every breath I make
you'll be the only light I see
You'll be the only light I see

Gordon Lightfoot: "If You Could Read My Mind" (1979 Soundstage Chicago)

Gordon Meredith Lightfoot, Jr. CC, OOnt (born November 17, 1938) is a Canadian singer-songwriter who achieved international success in folk, folk-rock, and country music and has been credited for helping define the folk-pop sound of the 1960s and 70s. He has been referred to as Canada's greatest songwriter and, internationally, as a folk-rock legend.

His compositions, including "For Lovin' Me", "Early Morning Rain", "Steel Rail Blues" and "Ribbon of Darkness" (which hit Number 1 in the US with Marty Robbins's cover in 1965), brought him international recognition in the 1960s. He also experienced chart success in Canada with his own recordings, beginning in 1962 with the Number 3 hit "(Remember Me) I'm the One". His recordings then made their own impact on the international music charts in the 1970s, with original songs such as "If You Could Read My Mind" (1970) (Number 5 in the US), "Sundown" (1974), "Carefree Highway" (1974), "Rainy Day People" (1975), (all hitting Number 1) and "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" (1976) (hitting Number 2). Some of his albums have achieved gold and multi-platinum status internationally, and his songs have been recorded by some of the world's most renowned recording artists, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr., The Kingston Trio, Marty Robbins, George Hamilton IV, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Barbra Streisand, Johnny Mathis, Viola Wills, Richie Havens, The Dandy Warhols, Harry Belafonte, Tony Rice, Sandy Denny (with Fotheringay), The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, Scott Walker, Sarah McLachlan, John Mellencamp, Toby Keith, Peter, Paul and Mary, Glen Campbell, Anne Murray, and Olivia Newton-John..

- Lyrics:

If you could read my mind, love
What a tale my thoughts could tell
Just like an old time movie
'bout a ghost from a wishing-well
In a castle dark or a fortress strong
With chains upon my feet
You know that ghost is me
And I will never be set free
As long as I'm a ghost you can't see

If I could read your mind, love
What a tale your thoughts could tell
Just like a paperback novel
The kind that drugstores sell
When you reach the part where the heartaches come
The hero would be me
And heroes often fail
And you won't read that book again
Because the ending's just too hard to take

I'd walk away like a movie star
Who gets burned in a three way script
And enter number two
A movie queen to play the scene
Of bringing all the good things out in me
But for now, love, let's be real
I never thought I could act this way
And I've got to say that I just don't get it
I don't know where we went wrong
But the feeling's gone
And I just can't get it back

If you could read my mind, love,
What a tale my thoughts could tell
Just like an old time movie
'bout a ghost from a wishing-well
In a castle dark or a fortress strong
With chains upon my feet
The story always ends
I never knew I could feel this way
And I've got to say that I just don't get it
I don't know where we went wrong
But the feeling's gone
And I just can't get it back

Stevie Nicks: "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" (1982)

"Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" was the first single from Stevie Nicks' debut solo album Bella Donna. It was written by Tom Petty and Mike Campbell as a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song, but Jimmy Iovine, who was also working Stevie Nicks at the time, arranged for her to sing on it. Petty sang with Nicks in the chorus and bridge, whilst his entire band played on the song.

A performance of the song in the studio was used as the promotional video.

The song reached #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It was not a success in Europe, however: reaching only #50 in the UK.

The two singers also duetted on the songs "Insider" (from Petty's 1981 album Hard Promises) and "I Will Run to You" (from Nicks' 1983 album The Wild Heart), and frequently performed impromptu live versions of these and '60s classic "Needles and Pins" in many shows throughout the '80s.

The song was parodied by "Weird Al" Yankovic as "Stop Draggin My Car Around" on his debut album.

- Lyrics:

Baby you'll come knocking on my front door
Same old line you used to use before
I said ya... well... what am I supposed to do
I didn't know what I was getting into

So you've had a little trouble in town
Now you're keeping some demons down
Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my heart around

It's hard to think about what you've wanted
It's hard to think about what you've lost
This doesn't have to be the big get even
This doesn't have to be anything at all

I know you really want to tell me good-bye
I know you really want to be your own girl

Baby you could never look me in the eye
Yeah you buckle with the weight of the words
Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my heart around

There's people running 'round loose in the world
Ain't got nothin' better to do
Than make a meal of some bright eyed kid
You need someone looking after you

I know you really want to tell me goodbye
I know you really want to be your own girl

Baby you could never look me in the eye
Yeah you buckle with the weight of the words
Stop draggin' my...
Stop draggin' my...

- Lyrics:

You'll never know what you've done for me
Put your faith in me has done for my soul
And you'll never know the gift you've given me
I'll carry it with me
Through the days ahead I'll think of days before
You made me hope for something better,
And made me reach for something more

Chorus:
You taught me to run
You taught me to fly
Helped me to free the me inside
Helped me hear the music of my heart
Helped me hear the music of my heart
You've opened my eyes, you've opened the door
To something I've never known before
And your love is the music of my heart
(Music of my heart)

You were the one
Always on my side (always on my side)
Always standing by (always standing by)
Seeing me through
You were the song that always made me sing (made me sing, made me sing)
I'm singin this for you (singin this for you baby)
Everywhere I go I'll think of where I've been
And of the one who knew me better than anyone ever will again

Chorus:
You taught me to run
You taught me to fly
Helped me to free the me inside
Helped me hear the music of my heart
Helped me hear the music of my heart
You've opened my eyes, you've opened the door
To something I've never known before
And your love is the music of my heart
(Music of my heart)

What you taught me
Only your love could ever teach me
You got through when no one could reach me before
'cuz you always saw in me
All the best that I could be
It was you who set me free

Repeat Chorus

...Is the music of my heart...

Genesis: "Land of Confusion" (Live 2007)

"Land of Confusion" is a rock song written by the band Genesis for their 1986 album Invisible Touch. The song was the third track on the album and was the fourth track from the album to become a single, which reached #4 in the US and #14 in the UK in 1987. It made #8 in the Netherlands.

The music was written by the band, while the lyrics were written by guitarist Mike Rutherford. The song is remembered by many Genesis fans because of its video, which featured puppets from the 1980s UK sketch show Spitting Image. (Source: Wikipedia)

- Lyrics:

I must've dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street.

Now did you read the news today
They say the danger's gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
There burning into the night.

There's too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see
This is a land of confusion.

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in.

Ooh Superman where are you now
When everything's gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour.

This is the time
This is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion.

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in.

I remember long ago -
Ooh when the sun was shining
Yes and the stars were bright
All through the night
And the sound of your laughter
As I held you tight
So long ago -

I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know, we'll never keep.

Too many men
There's too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see
This is a land of confusion.

Now this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for.

This is the world we live in
And these are the names we're given
Stand up and let's start showing
Just where our lives are going to.

A remix version was included on the Timbaland album, Shock Value and on the deluxe version of Dreaming Out Loud. The song was the biggest radio airplay hit in the history of the Top 40 radio in North America, with 10,394 plays in one week, until its record was broken by Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love," which was also co-written by Tedder. The song was a major hit internationally, reaching number-one in 16 countries, including Australia, Austria, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, Egypt, Turkey, and the Netherlands, as well as staying at number-one for eight consecutive weeks on the Billboard Pop 100 chart. The song charted in the top three on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent thirteen weeks at number-one in Canada. "Apologize" was ranked #50 on the list of the Billboard Hot 100's All-Time Top Songs list from the chart's first 50 years. It spent 25 consecutive weeks in the top 10, the longest stay there for any song since "Smooth," by Santana which spent 30 weeks in 1999. It was also ranked #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade. It remains OneRepublic's biggest hit single in the USA to date, and their only one to reach the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

- Lyrics:

I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground
And I'm hearing what you say
But I just can't make a sound
You tell me that you need me
Then you go and cut me down
But wait...
You tell me that you're sorry
Didn't think I'd turn around and shake...
That it's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late
I'd take another chance, take a fall, take a shot for you
And I need you like a heart needs a beat
(But that's nothing new)
Yeah yeah
I loved you with a fire red, now it's turning blue
And you say
Sorry like the angel, heaven let me think was you
But I'm afraid
It's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologizes, it's too late
Woahooo woah
It's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late
woahooo woah
I said it's too late to apologize, yeah yeah
I said it's too late to apologize, a yeah
I'm holding on your rope
Got me ten feet off the ground...

Fine Young Cannibals: "She Drives Me Crazy"

Fine Young Cannibals were a British band formed in Birmingham, England, in 1984, by bassist David Steele and guitarist Andy Cox (both formerly of The Beat), and singer Roland Gift (formerly of the Akrylykz). They are best known for their 1989 hit singles "She Drives Me Crazy" and "Good Thing".

Their name came from the 1960 film All The Fine Young Cannibals starring Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood.

- Lyrics:

Songwriters: Steele, David; Gift, Roland;

I can't stop the way I feel
Things you do don't seem real

Tell me what you've got in mind
'Cause we're runnin' out of time
Won't you ever set me free
This waiting round is killing me

She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
I can't help myself

I can't get any rest
People say I'm obsessed
Everything you say is lies
But to me there's no surprise
What I had for you was true
Things go wrong, they always do

She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
I can't help myself

I won't make it on my own
No one likes to be alone

She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
I can't help myself

Uh huh huh

She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
I can't help myself

Uh huh huh

She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
I can't help myself

Sandra: In The Heat of The Night (1985)

"In the Heat of the Night" is a pop song by German singer Sandra. The song was released in November 1985 as the second single from the album The Long Play, where it charted at number one in Switzerland and Israel, and number two in Germany.

The song was covered by Hong Kong pop singer Anita Mui in 1986 and by Finnish gothic-doom metal band To/Die/For in 1999. The song was also redone by a group named E-Rotic for PlayStation 2's Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2. Also in 1999, a remix version of the song by Sandra was released as a promo single only in France. In 2006 Sandra recorded a new mix of this song. This mix appeared on her compilation Reflections - Reproduced Hits (2006).

According to wikipedia, in 2007 Virgin Music France decided to release a special version of Reflections, containing three new remixes made by French DJs. "In the Heat of the Night" was planned to be released as a single in France containing four new versions of the song, in order to promote the new compilation. A few promotional copies were sent to medias, however the commercial release was cancelled and it was only released online as a digital single.

In Sandra's first proper music video, the singer was featured in a steaming sauna filled with bare-chested men.

- Lyrics:

In The Heat Of The Night lyrics

Talk to me - want my love. Talk to me - but not that stuff.
You ain't get enough using my love.
You call for me
again I'll see.

In the heat of the night -
You lose control and sell your soul -
I lose control in the heat of the night -
It's much too late to leave the trade -
But I can't stand it anymore -
You lose your heart and sell your soul -
I lose control in the heat of the night -
In the heat of the night -

Talk to me - want my love. Talk to me - but not that stuff.
Who's on my side losing my pride?
You call for me
again I'll see.

In the heat of the night - . . .
In the heat of the night -

In the heat of the night - . . .
You lose your heart and sell your soul -
It's much too late to leave the trade -

- Lyrics:

Mama, come look quick - there's a light up in the sky;
I see the silent ship, and it's calling you and I;
And if you listen close, the reasons all come clear;
I'm ready now to go, there's nothing left to fear.
Oh there's nothing left to fear.

Leavin' all of this pain behind, gonna sail away;
Lettin' all of these chains unwind, gonna steal away.

Mama, come look quick - do I see an open door?
The passageway is lit, an' it's time to get on board.
What wonders we will see, what beauty to my eyes;
So come along with me, across the rainbow sky,
Across the rainbow sky.

Leavin' all of this pain behind, gonna sail away;
Lettin' all of these chains unwind, gonna fly away;
Makin' over this troubled mind, gonna wash away;
Leavin' all of this doubt behind, gonna sail away.

Mama, come look quick - there's a light up in the sky;
I see the silent ship, and it's calling you and I.

- Lyrics:

Songwriters: Winwood, Steve; Jennings, Will;

So wild, standing there, with her hands in her hair
I can?t help remember just where she touched me
There?s still no face here in her place
So cool, she was like jazz on a summer?s day
Music, high and sweet, then she just blew away
Now she can?t be that warm with the wind in her arms

Valerie, call on me-call on me, valerie
Come and see me-i?m the same boy I used to be

Love songs fill the night, but they don?t tell it all
Not how lovers cry out just like they?re dying
Her cries hang there in time somewhere
Someday, some good wind may blow her back to me
Some night I may hear her like she used to be
No it can?t be that warm with the wind in her arms

So cool, she was like jazz on a summer?s day
Music, high and sweet, then she just blew away
Don?t tell me you?re warm with the wind in your arms

Neil Sedaka (born March 13, 1939) is an American pop singer, pianist, and songwriter. His career has spanned over 50 years, during which time he has written many songs for himself and others, often working with lyricists Howard Greenfield and Phil Cody.

Sedaka attended Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, graduating in 1956. He has been married to his wife, Leba (Strassberg), since 1962. They have two children: a daughter, Dara, a recording artist and vocalist for television and radio commercials (who sang the female part on the Sedaka duet "Should've Never Let You Go"), and a son, Marc, a screenwriter who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Samantha and three children.

* Lyrics:

Oh! Carol
I am but a fool
Darling I love you
Though you treat me cruel
You hurt me
And you make me cry
But if you leave me
I will surely die

Darling, never never be another
'Cause I love you so
Don't ever leave me
Say you'll never go

I will always want you for my sweet heart
No matter what you do
Oh! Carol
I'm so in love with you

Oh! Carol
I am but a fool
Darling I love you
Though you treat me cruel
You hurt me
And you make me cry
But if you leave me
I will surely die

Darling, never never be another
'Cause I love you so
Don't ever leave me
Say you'll never go

I will always want you for my sweet heart
No matter what you do
Oh! Carol
I'm so in love with you...

Culture Club: Karma Chameleon

"Karma Chameleon" is a song by British New Wave band Culture Club, featured on the group's 1983 album Colour by Numbers. The song spent three weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1984, becoming the group's biggest hit and only US number one. "Karma Chameleon" hit number one in sixteen countries worldwide. In the group's home country, it became the second Culture Club single to reach the top of the UK singles chart (after "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me"), where it stayed for six weeks in September and October 1983, and became the biggest-selling single of 1983. It is widely regarded as Culture Club's signature song.

In an interview, Culture Club frontman Boy George explained: "The song is about the terrible fear of alienation that people have, the fear of standing up for one thing. It's about trying to suck up to everybody. Basically, if you aren't true, if you don't act like you feel, then you get Karma-justice, that's nature's way of paying you back."

The prominent harmonica part was played by Judd Lander, who had been a member of Merseybeat group The Hideaways in the 1960s. The song was originally to be called "Cameo Chameleon". The band were recorded in interviews in mid 1983 stating this was to be the title of their next single.

Likely because of the lyric "I'm a man without conviction," and the chorus, which includes the word "chameleon," "Karma Chameleon" has been used by several politicians in political ads. In 2006, Britain's Labour Party used "Karma Chameleon" as the theme song for a series of political advertisements against Conservative party leader David Cameron in the 2006 UK Elections. Also, during the 2010 U.S. senate race in Pennsylvania, Republican Pat Toomey used the song as backing music for his video "Happy Anniversary Arlen Specter!" as a way to criticize a sitting Senator from Pennsylvania and recently-turned Democrat Arlen Specter.

The song won Best British Single at the 1984 Brit Awards. The group performed the song as a finale when they appeared in the 1986 episode "Cowboy George" of The A-Team.

* Lyrics:
Songwriters: Craig, Michael; Moss, Jon; Pickett, Phil; Hay, Roy; O'Dowd, George.

There is loving in your eyes all the way.
If I listened to your lies would you say
I'm a man (a man) without conviction,
I'm a man (a man) who doesn't know
how to sell (to sell) a contradiction.
You come and go, you come and go.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
red gold and green, red gold and green.

Didn't hear your wicked words every day
and you used to be so sweet, I heard you say
that my love (my love) was an addiction.
When we cling (we cling) our love is strong.
When you go (you go) you're gone forever.
You string along, you string along.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
red gold and green, red gold and green.

Every day is like survival (sur-vi-val),
you're my lover (you're my lover), not my rival.
Every day is like survival (sur-vi-val),
you're my lover (you're my lover), not my rival.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
red gold and green, red gold and green.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
red gold and green, red gold and green.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
red gold and green, red gold and green.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon
You come and go....
