Lynn Rene Anderson (born September 26, 1947, Grand Forks, North Dakota) is an American country music singer and horse racer, best known for her Grammy Award-winning country crossover hit single, "(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden".
Anderson was one of the most popular female country singers of the 1970s, helped by her regular exposure on national television. She has scored eight #1s, 18 Top Tens and over 50 Top 40 hits.
Since 1967, Lynn Anderson has released 31 studio albums and two live albums. Since 1966, she has released 57 singles, 5 of which reached #1 on either the Billboard or Cashbox magazine Country charts. In the United States, she has had two Gold and Platinum certified albums by RIAA. Worldwide, Anderson has had 15 other RIAA-certified Gold albums.
