"Under Pressure" is a 1981 song recorded by Queen and David Bowie. It marked Bowie's first released collaboration with another recording artist as a performer, and is featured on Queen's 1982 album Hot Space. The song reached #1 on the UK Singles Chart. It was also number 31 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the '80s.

It would be Queen's last number 1 single in the United Kingdom until the success of Innuendo almost 10 years later.

Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers: "Real Love" (1985)

"Real Love" was a 1985 single by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers that topped the U.S. country singles charts in August 1985. The song, written by David Malloy, Richard "Spady" Brannon and Randy McCormick, was the title single of Parton's Real Love album. Released as Real Love's second single, after the top-ten success of "Don't Call it Love", the song became Parton and Rogers' second country chart-topper. However, "Real Love" did not fare as well on the pop singles charts as 1983's "Islands in the Stream" had done, stalling at number 91 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 13 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

Unlike "Islands in the Stream," Real Love was not composed by The Bee Gees who had composed and produced Rogers' 1983 chart topping album Eyes That See in the Dark which also included another four of Rogers' hit singles from 1983 and 1984, namely "Buried Treasure", "This Woman", "Midsummer Nights" and "Evening Star" .

Parton and Rogers embarked on a nine-city U.S. concert tour in February 1985, from which an HBO concert special, "Real Love" was filmed; a music video for the "Real Love" single was produced using footage from the HBO special.

Famous Duets: Simon & Garfunkel

Simon & Garfunkel are an American singer-songwriter duo consisting of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. They formed the group Tom & Jerry in 1957, and had their first taste of success with the minor hit "Hey, Schoolgirl".

As Simon & Garfunkel, the duo rose to fame in 1965, backed by the hit single "The Sounds of Silence". Their music was featured in the landmark film The Graduate, propelling them further into the public consciousness.

They are well known for their close vocal harmonies and sometimes unstable relationship. Their last album, Bridge over Troubled Water, was delayed several times due to artistic disagreements.

They were among the most popular recording artists of the 1960s; among their biggest hits, in addition to "The Sound of Silence", were "I Am a Rock", "Homeward Bound", "A Hazy Shade of Winter", "Mrs. Robinson", "Bridge over Troubled Water", "The Boxer", "Cecilia", and "Scarborough Fair/Canticle".

They have received several Grammys and are inductees in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame (2007). They have reunited on several occasions since their 1970 breakup, most famously for 1981's The Concert in Central Park, which attracted about 500,000 people.

Charles and Eddie: "Shine"

Charles and Eddie were a soul music duo that had a string of top 40 hits in the UK in the '90s. Their biggest was the worldwide hit single, "Would I Lie to You", taken from their 1992 debut album, Duophonic. "Would I Lie to You?" won three Ivor Novello Awards in 1993 (for Best Contemporary Song, Best Selling Song and International Hit of the Year).

Charles Pettigrew and Eddie Chacon met in New York City. Chacon had grown up in Hayward and Castro Valley, California where he had started his first band at age 12 with neighborhood friends Cliff Burton (Metallica) and Mike Bordin (Faith No More). Later Chacon moved to Los Angeles, Miami, London and Copenhagen where his career moved more into songwriting and production. He wrote several hit songs, mostly in Europe.

Pettigrew, meanwhile, was raised in Philadelphia, and went on to study jazz vocals at the Berklee College Of Music in Boston, while also singing with the Boston favorite, Down Avenue. Around the time of Charles' death he was recording a record with Tom Tom Club (Chris Franz and Tina Weymoth).

Charles Pettigrew died of cancer on 6 April 2001 at the age of 37.

Eddie is currently residing in Los Angeles and fronting the electronic duo, The Polyamorous Affair with his partner Sissy Sainte-Marie. In 2009 The Polyamorous Affair released the album, Bolshevik Disco.
